There are many people homeless in Atlanta and you could be one of
them. There are many resources here for the homeless that include soup kitchens, referrerrals for help getting medical care,
dental care, and vision.
If you are homeless and need immediate assistance, call the 800 number
at the top. That is the direct hotline for the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless Help Line.
You can also visit the Task Force Online at http://www.homelesstaskforce.org/
The Atlanta Day Shelter is a shelter for women and children and provides
breakfast, lunch, clothes, showers, free laundry services, and job training for anyone who needs it.
Crossroads is near the Task Force and provides meals, medical care,
and referrals for anyone.
All of these and more can be accessed by calling the hotline above.
All of these shelters do need help in these hard economic times!
If you want to help the homeless, please do not give
out money to pan handlers. You could be feeding a crack habit, or any other drug habit. Instead, I recommend the Yellow Meters
in front of the Hilton Hotel on Courtland or the Westin Hotel on Peachtree. These meters were installed by the City of Atlanta
to help local charities like The Task Force help the homeless.
